Kundalini Shakti resides in the last part of the spine (called the sacrum in English) and remains dormant. By mentally chanting the mantra given by the Guru and meditating, it awakens.

In yoga, three types of bands are applied. Kundalini itself controls it. In the state of meditation, this conscious power subjugates the human body, mind, prana, and intellect, and performs all yogic actions automatically. The practitioner cannot stop it even if they want to, nor can they do it themselves. They simply keep their eyes closed, beholding the Guru at the Ajna Chakra as a witness. This is the yoga described in Patanjali Yoga.

Indian yoga philosophy speaks of calming the three types of tap (afflictions): Adi Dahik (physical), Adi Bhautik (mental/environmental), and Adi Daivik (spiritual). In English: physical disease, mental disease, and spiritual disease—no illness exists outside these. The yoga being taught today is just physical exercise. Orthopedists and physiotherapists are more correct than these yoga teachers; that is not yoga.

Kundalini will conduct the yoga. It will move only those organs that are not functioning fully. It will perform yoga only on those diseased or improperly functioning organs. Therefore, each practitioner gets different yoga. One has one issue; another has a different one. To fix that system of physical illnesses, Kundalini performs yoga. It doesn’t ascend until that system becomes completely healthy. So, meditate like this: yoga will happen in the meditative state, not while walking or moving around. Nothing will happen against your will—no need to worry. Yes, when yoga happens, onlookers get scared, wondering what trouble this person must be in. But ask the one experiencing it—they’ll tell you the bliss they feel. Real life begins from here. So, meditate twice a day and continuously mentally chant the Sanjeevani Mantra.

During meditation, the first band will engage at the Muladhara. Especially, Kundalini Shakti will make the spine exercise, because Kundalini must rise through the Sushumna Nadi inside it. The Sahasrara is connected to the Sushumna. Not a single hair follicle is unconnected to the Sushumna. So, the spine will be bent at the exact angle needed to heal that specific system. Diabetics get one type of yoga, asthmatics another, arthritis patients yet another. Yoga continues until that organ is completely healthy. Thus, the first band engages at Muladhara, with special spine exercises. But the whole body will move along with it, because the entire system is interlinked.

As soon as Kundalini rises above the navel, the second band engages—called Uddiyana Bandha. It happens automatically; you can’t force it. The navel will stick to the spine. Then, as Kundalini rises further to the throat pit (called Kanthakupa), the third band engages—called Jalandhara Bandha. After this, spine exercises for the upper portion become impossible. Then pranayama begins automatically. Pranayama has hundreds of types, though yoga books describe only a few. Books mention only a few asanas too, but there are hundreds of different asanas for specific organ diseases. Once pranayama starts, full Kumbhaka (breath retention) occurs. Kundalini jerks up to the Ajna Chakra and beyond. The practitioner enters Samadhi. Not everyone needs this yoga—if you’re physically fit with no diseases, no yoga happens.

If there’s even a slight issue, yoga happens to fix it. Thus, the yoga that occurs practically cures all human diseases.
